JKRENS is doing a lot of great work to save our Earth through renewable energy projects. This has also helped tremendously to empower the youths in some rural areas in Nigeria. Furthermore, it will be wholly accepted and quite Commendable if the youths focus more on renewable energy to save our Environment. This will also empower the youths and help rural dwellers in many communities through sustainable initiatives. Our Country is seriously facing acute energy crisis and people rely mostly on fossil energy sources. Those that are immensely affected are the poor masses in rural areas.
Mostly, when we talk about PEACE people attribute it to good understanding, lack of war, etc. However, when we are protecting our environment, we are absolutely making peace for the whole World. The global climatic change is due to usage of fossil fuels. In order to curtail the fossil fuel impact on our environment and Mankind, renewable energy being clean energy and energy of the future should be generally accepted. This quest to protect our environment and to empower the youths in rural and urban areas through solar / renewable energy is what moved JKRENS to start up renewable energy projects for rural and urban development.
THE RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECT INITIATIVES
Trainings: Empowerment of the youths through renewable energy trainings and workshops. This was a workshop program JKRENS did to empower the youths.

Enterpreneurship / Skill acquisitions: Through solar/renewable energy initiatives in rural areas, integration of the youths through empowerment and skill acquisition will be realised. This will help the rural dwellers in sustainable business and to be self - employed in renewable energy sectors. They can also learn how to install off- grid solar systems to enable them to go green in the future to protect our environment. Provision of solar home stations: In rural / urban areas, renewable energy will help the poor students to study in the night and do all their required assignments. For those that have already skills like art/craft, provision of light will go a long way in helping them to carry out their work activities in a renewable energy environment.. One can achieve this through provision of solar lamps too.. Good communication, which is very important in sustainable environment is also achieved through the provision of solar home stations to charge phones, Power radio and other telecommunication gadgets.
Libraries in rural areas: Supply of renewable energy books and materials to most of the secondary school libraries will go a long way in helping the students to acquire more knowledge through solar (PV) installations and for environmental protections too.
Solar water boreholes (Using solar submersible pumps): From observations, many rural dwellers are still drinking unclean water which is very dangerous to health. Therefore, drilling of water boreholes that can be powered by solar energy will be a plus initiative and will definitely reduce the rural dweller`s health hazards. Installation of off-grid solar plants in community markets: This will help the rural dwellers to achieve trading success through sustainability. If off-grid solar plants are installed in the rural markets, they can now preserve their edible foodstuffs, do their business every time without fear. Furthermore, the use of fossil bound generators which contribute in pollution of the environment due to carbon monoxide output to the environment is reduced. The noise impact also will be strongly minimized. This is the good work of Solar PV installations.
For this, I think if these renewable Energy project initiatives are given attention, it will go a very long way in supporting the rural dwellers and for community development too.
These renewable energy initiatives will tremendously empower the Youths, create sustainable opportunities and protection of our Environment.
